The ANZ Rewards Credit Card

As a basic rewards card, the ANZ Rewards Credit Card offers a decent earn rate and some handy features. Want to know more about how the ANZ Rewards program works? Read on and explore the benefits this card has to offer.

What we love...

Much like most other rewards cards, with the ANZ Rewards Credit Card, you earn points on your credit card spending. You will earn 1 Reward Point per $1 spent on the first $1,000 per statement period, and 0.5 Reward Points per $1 thereafter.

The points you accrue can then be redeemed for anything within the ANZ Rewards program. This can include gift cards, merchandise and cashback, with the flexibility to change reward choices at any time.

Love travel? You can redeem your Reward Points for flights, hotels, car hire and more. You can even redeem your points with any of their partner airline frequent flyer programs - Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Asia Miles, Velocity Frequent Flyer, to name a few.

Want something for your home? Check out the range of homewares and appliances. You can also choose from an array of entertainment, activities and gifts, such as experiences, magazine subscriptions and hampers, or you can opt for vouchers and gift cards.

To give you an idea of what your Reward Points are worth, you could redeem 2,300 points for a $10 gift card for Woolworths, JB HI-FI, and Myer. If you prefer to turn your points into cashback, you can get $5 for 1,250 points which will be credited to your card account within 2 business days.

Point calculations are accurate but may be subject to change without notice.

What’s not so great...

Rewards cards are generally not known for their low interest rates or annual fees. While the ANZ Rewards Credit Card has a fairly affordable annual fee, its purchase rate and cash advance rate are high enough that you wouldn’t want to carry a balance. In terms of its earn rate, this is not a high-earning rewards card. But if it suits your spending, you may find it offers value.

Why should you choose this card?

If you want a rewards card with an affordable annual fee, the ANZ Rewards Credit Card could be just what you’re looking for. As long as you’re not expecting to earn big rewards for your everyday spending, it could be a valuable choice. To figure that out though, you will need to work out how much you get back in rewards (and features) and compare that to the amount you pay in fees.

The card also provides exclusive offers and privileges in travel, leisure, dining, and shopping through Visa Entertainment, plus up to 55 days interest free on purchases, and all the basic security and technology features usually included on credit cards.

To be eligible, you must be 18 years or over, have a good credit rating and be a permanent Australian resident. If you are a non-permanent resident, you must have more than nine months remaining on your visa.

Overall Rating

A middle-of-the-road rewards card, the ANZ Rewards Credit Card is perfect for everyday use, offering access to an excellent rewards program, handy features - all for an affordable annual fee.

You get a Visa and an Amex card for the ANZ rewards card. The Amex earns you more points â?? but itâ??s not accepted in as many places and you can get charged higher transaction fees.
