BankSA is the largest financial institution in South Australia, but offers great deals on credit cards and other financial products nationwide.
BankSA serves one in four South Australians, and features the state’s largest network of branches and ATMs. Within the vast range of financial products the bank offers, BankSA provides a diverse selection of credit cards, ranging from low-cost options to premium cards that offer a plethora of features and rewards. Of course, like its other products, its credit cards are open to all applicants who meet the eligibility criteria – so you don’t need to live in South Australia to apply.
You can save some serious money by choosing either a low rate or low fee card, or earn rewards as you spend with BankSA's range of rewards and frequent flyer cards. It also has premium features on their high-tier credit cards.
BankSA is a bank with a proud history, and can trace its roots all the way back to 1848. Starting out as The Savings Bank of South Australia, the bank opened its doors to its first customer, an Afghan shepherd who deposited his life savings of 29 pounds. Within a month, the bank had issued its first loan to a Mr John Colton, who went on to become an important member of South Australian society. Becoming the State Bank in 1984, BankSA finally emerged in its current state, to later become a subsidiary of Westpac in 2008 along with Bank of Melbourne and St George.

BankSA offers a real alternative when it comes to credit cards. A part of the Westpac group, this is one of South Australia’s key institutions and has been around since opening its first branch in 1848. BankSA is also a large supplier of housing, personal finance and rural bank services.
When it comes to choosing the right card with BankSA, you really need to find out whether a rewards card is what you’re after. You can enjoy the rewards offered by the Amplify program, or become a Qantas Frequent Flyer with the choices on offer from BankSA.
If you’re looking for a great balance transfer card, BankSA has the Vertigo and Vertigo Platinum cards offering a 0% interest rate for a long period to let you get on top of your other credit card debt.
