BankSA Credit Cards

Pauline Hatch

BankSA is the largest financial institution in South Australia, but offers great deals on credit cards and other financial products nationwide.

BankSA serves one in four South Australians, and features the state’s largest network of branches and ATMs. Within the vast range of financial products the bank offers, BankSA provides a diverse selection of credit cards, ranging from low-cost options to premium cards that offer a plethora of features and rewards. Of course, like its other products, its credit cards are open to all applicants who meet the eligibility criteria – so you don’t need to live in South Australia to apply.

You can save some serious money by choosing either a low rate or low fee card, or earn rewards as you spend with BankSA's range of rewards and frequent flyer cards. It also has premium features on their high-tier credit cards.

BankSA is a bank with a proud history, and can trace its roots all the way back to 1848. Starting out as The Savings Bank of South Australia, the bank opened its doors to its first customer, an Afghan shepherd who deposited his life savings of 29 pounds. Within a month, the bank had issued its first loan to a Mr John Colton, who went on to become an important member of South Australian society. Becoming the State Bank in 1984, BankSA finally emerged in its current state, to later become a subsidiary of Westpac in 2008 along with Bank of Melbourne and St George.

Hi Joe, the lowest earning annual fee is the Amplify card. $1 = 0.5 Qantas Points. Let me know if this doesn't suit.

Hi Carolyn, I am not that familiar with the advantage plus program but would find it hard to be believe that it would provide no annual fee on the Signature offer. You will need to reach out to your membership customer service to discuss.

Can I transfer my St George balance to the bank of SA via 0% balance transfer

Hi Tony, no you can't. Bank SA is part of the St George group, therefore you cannot balance transfer between BOM, BankSA and St George offers. You can still balance transfer with Westpac and all other banks subject to credit approval. The Westpac Low Rate for example has a similar offer to the Vertigo. Best of luck with your balance transfer application.

Yeah - just waiting for final approval to go live - if you check back this afternoon. One point to note is that they are changing all balance transfer revert rates to cash advance rather than to the purchase rates. This means you can get stung with high interest if you dont pay it off within the intro period.

Offers are just going live today for BankSA again - they finished up yesterday thus we removed them from our site. Looks like 0% for 16 months will be nearly across the board.
