Some business credit cards can seem somewhat daunting, filling your head with talk of complicated rewards programs and complex features. The Bankwest Business Large Rewards Mastercard, however, does things a little bit differently.
As a business rewards card, it certainly offers a rewards program – but it’s a pretty simple one to understand. Aside from that, there are no convoluted features to get your brain around. This is simply a card that concentrates on the basics, while keeping things as affordable as possible.
While it may be somewhat basic, the Bankwest Business Large Rewards Mastercard does have a very nice introductory bonus points offer on the table right now.
To be entitled to the offer, all you need to do is spend at least $2,500 on eligible purchases within three months of the account opening, and you will be credited with 28,000 Business Rewards introductory bonus points.
On a day-to-day basis, you can use your card to earn rewards points on your business spending, with an earn rate of 1 point for every $1 spent on eligible purchases. Points earned can then be redeemed for gift cards, merchandise and other office essentials.
Putting aside the rewards program, there is one other major feature on this card that we appreciate. While it may not be a full-blown low cost card, the Bankwest Business Large Rewards Mastercard can help you to keep costs low.
With an annual fee of $99, it’s obviously not the cheapest option in town. But, it is affordable. It’s worth bearing in mind that for that fee, you are getting the opportunity to earn rewards back on your spending, with a few other handy features thrown in as well.
In terms of interest costs, this card is not a low rate card. However, it does have one ongoing rate for both purchases and cash advances, and while this rate is not at the lowest end of the scale, it’s also not at the highest.
It is possible to avoid those interest charges entirely, of course, by avoiding the cash advance feature and by paying off the balance of the card in full at the end of each statement period.
Bankwest doesn’t give us too much to complain about with the Bankwest Business Large Rewards Mastercard. But, if you want to be picky, you might choose to look at the rewards program on offer.
If you want to earn big rewards on rewards programs such as Qantas Frequent Flyer or Virgin’s Velocity, you’ll need to find a card that offers a higher earn rate on those big-name programs.
To work out whether this card does offer value in its rewards program, all you need to do is weigh up how much you are paying out on the card against the value of the rewards you get in return.
When comparing credit card options in order to discover a card’s true value, it’s generally a good idea to look at the features on offer. Aside from its rewards program, the Bankwest Business Large Rewards Mastercard provides a number of useful features.
These include easy cardholder management, providing up to three additional cardholders consolidated into one account and one payment, improved cashflow with up to 55 days interest free on purchases, and a credit limit ranging between $2,000 and $50,000.
