$0 first year. Then $30 p.a.
The Border Bank Visa Credit Card offers more money saving with a low ongoing purchase rate and a low annual fee, which is waived for the first year for new cardholders. While it may keep it simple elsewhere, the card allows you to enjoy being a part of a mutual, while benefiting from extras such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay compatibility.
Even without a balance transfer introductory offer, the Border Bank Visa Credit Card is still a lovely little card. It has the same low rate on purchases and cash advances, which could mean it would work well if you carry a balance each month. If you clear your balance however, you can take advantage of up to 55 days interest free on purchases.
Now to the card’s annual fee – and here is where the card’s introductory offer comes into play. New cardholders will have their annual fee waived for the first year, essentially making the card free to use. This is a nice touch for all. Ongoing, the card’s annual fee is super low.
If you’re not looking for the opportunity to save – if, in fact, you’re looking for more from your card and are willing to pay out more for the privilege – the Border Bank Visa Credit Card may not be for you. With its focus on money saving, this card offers only the basics in features, and no opportunity to earn rewards.
As we have already outlined, the Border Bank Visa Credit Card would work well for cardholders looking to keep costs down. With no annual fee in the first year, and a low annual fee ongoing, the card could be the ideal option for cardholders wanting to save money on a basic card that offers access to credit, without having to worry about complex rewards programs and features.
With the bank’s Reduced Fees Program, you could save even more money if you switch to Border Bank for your other banking products. Rewarding customer loyalty, this program allows you to reduce – or even avoid – transaction fees and charges when you maintain a combined monthly balance of $5,000 or more worth of savings, investments or loans.
And although it is a fairly simple card, you can still expect all the accessibility and security features you would find on any Visa. That means worldwide acceptance, and features such as Visa payWave and Verified by Visa. Tech compatibility is also on offer via Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay.
With no annual fee for the first year, the Border Bank Visa Credit Card is an excellent money saver, also providing a low ongoing purchase rate and annual fee.
