Community First Low Rate Blue Credit Card

Community First Low Rate Blue card could help cardholders save money on interest especially those who are unable to clear off their balances each month. You can take advantage of its 0% balance transfer introductory offer, one low rate on purchases, cash advances, and balance transfers, up to 55 days interest free on purchases (if you pay your balance in full each month), a low annual fee and a free additional cardholder .

This card also comes with features for faster, easier and secure payments such as smart chip protection, payWave, Visa's Zero Liability policy and Verified by Visa for online purchases

What we love...

The Community First Low Rate Blue credit card believes in simplicity and in providing cardholders true value. It currently offers one low variable rate of 8.99% on retail purchases, cash advances, and balance transfers. This card provides a more affordable option by allowing you to save on interest when you carry a balance month-to-month and not eventually get caught in a spiral of debt.

On to another money-saving feature- the introductory balance transfer offer. New and existing cardholders can move their credit card balance from an external financial institution over to Community First Low Rate Blue credit card and they could be eligible for the 0% balance transfer offer for the first 12 months with no balance transfer fee.

While there are other cards in the market with a longer balance transfer period, what's good about this card is that it reverts back to a low standard credit card rate of 8.99% p.a. so it's less of a struggle to clear your remaining balance if you are unable to pay it all off, as compared to cards with high revert rate.

Although, it's still really important to always work out what you can afford beforehand and to set out a payment plan that will work for you and your debt.

Other benefits you can get from this credit card include up to 55 days interest free period provided you pay your balance for purchases in full each month by the due date. You can also add an extra cardholder free of charge. The card comes with up to date security features to give you peace of mind especially when shopping online.

To top it all of, this card gives cardholders an opportunity to contribute to the community by proudly supporting the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Half of the $50 card annual fee will be donated to the foundation each year that you hold the card.

What’s not so great...

While this card has limited features and does not let you earn any rewards points on your spending (as it normally is with all other low rate cards), there is honestly nothing to complain about the Community First Low Rate Blue Credit Card.

Why should you choose this card?

The Community First Low Rate Blue Credit Card will not only help you manage your finances with its money-saving features - one low ongoing rate for purchases, cash advances, and balance transfers, 0% balance transfer intro offer, and other handy features but it also gives you an opportunity to contribute to the community.

Overall Rating

A simple, low rate credit card that gives back to the community- one low ongoing rate on purchases, cash advances, and balance transfers, low annual fee, up to 55 days interest free and other money-saving benefits. Plus, 0% p.a. on balance transfer for 12 months intro offer with no balance transfer fee.

Hello, I have a GoMasteredit card which has approx $5,000 interest free on it and approx $5,000 of other purchases on it. The interest rate on the otherpuchases is 22.74% so I would like to transfer the balance over but I'm not sure if I am able to transfer the interest free purchases without incurring a penalty. Do you know anything about this side of things? Many thanks, Chris

Hi Chris, you would need to check with Go Mastercard directly on this. I would assume that there is no penalty for paying out all purchases inc 0% early. I believe the fee is in the setup so should be all good.
