Can the frequent flyer points be used with Virgin? If so what is the conversion rate
    Pauline - CreditCard.com.au

    Pauline

    6 February 2024
Hi Brian, this particular Altitude Black card earns Qantas points, which can't be transferred to Velocity (Virgin) points. But, you could look at the Altitude Black that earns Altitude points instead, which can be converted to Velocity points (3 Altitude to 1 Velocity). I hope that helps!

Hi Laura, you’ve actually reached Creditcard.com.au, Australia’s top credit card comparison site. Usually, bonus points are credited to your points balance within 12 weeks of meeting the spend criteria. I suggest calling Westpac directly at 1300 651 089 to check the status of your bonus points.

TO GET THE TRAVEL INSURANCE COVER, HOW MUCH DO I NEED TO SPEND ON TRAVEL USING THE CARD, WILL HOTEL, CRUISE PAYMENT (NOT AIR TICKET) BE FINE? WHAT IF I SPENT THESE TRAVEL BOOKINGS PARTIALLY USING THE CARD?
    Pauline - CreditCard.com.au

    Pauline

    19 July 2023
Hi Jason, Westpac's terms say you have to spend at least $500 on your travel expenses and hold a return ticket to be eligible. It says that $500 includes travel ticket costs, departure taxes, accommodation and other prepaid itinerary items. Check with Westpac directly about cruise travel as many don't cover it. I hope that helps Jason!

Hi Jason, I looked into Westpac Altitude Black Credit Card – Qantas card’s points earning and there’s no mention of any extra points. However, there are other cards like the range of Qantas Money credit cards that you can check out that lets you earn 1 bonus Qantas Point per $1 on selected Qantas products and services.

6 mths International travel Insurance, is that from the time of ticket purchase? I intend making two international flights in 12 mths. Would I be covered for both of these? Where can I read detail about the travel insurance cover. I am 74, would that be a problem? I have not health issues. Thanks, Raye

    17 April 2023
Hi Raye, that’s a good question! The period of cover actually starts on the date when you become eligible for international travel insurance coverage. You can find more details about the eligibility requirements and period of cover on pages 20 thru 22 on Westpac’s official insurance PDS. We hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable flight!
