The NAB Low Fee Platinum Credit Card

Looking for a premium card with an awesome balance transfer offer? The NAB Low Fee Platinum Credit Card could very well be for you. New cardholders who apply online could enjoy 0% p.a. on balance transfers for 12 months.

Want to find out more about this offer? Want to know if this card is really for you? Luckily, you’ve come to the right place, because we can tell you all of that and more.

What we love…

This little beauty has it all. The looks, the personality, the moves – all in one tight little plastic package. First up, let’s talk a little more about that offer. If you happen to have a credit card balance that you want to pay down, this card could help you do just that.

With this offer, you’ll pay 0% p.a. interest on your transferred balance for 12 months. This can give you some time you need to pay down that debt, while paying heaps less in interest. What do you need to know? Bear in mind, you can only transfer up to 90% of your approved credit limit. You will also need to pay a one-off 3% balance transfer fee.

But this card is not just about its offer. Sure, the offer is super-dooper-amazing, but this card has potential in the long term too. As its name suggests, this is a premium credit card. That means it offers a variety of premium features.

One of the most prominent features is its range of complimentary insurances: five, to be exact. The card offers several international travel insurances, purchase protection insurance and extended warranty insurance. Phew.

What’s not so great…

As with any credit card, there are a few little sticking points that cardholders should be aware of before they apply. Of course, there is that 3% balance transfer fee.

However, it's worth noting that any balance left unpaid at the end of the introductory period reverts to the variable cash advance rate. Cardholders should do their best to avoid this by paying off their transferred balance before interest starts accruing.

Why should you choose this card?

As a premium card, there are some nice features to be had. The NAB Low Fee Platinum Credit Card offers one free additional cardholder, emergency travel assistance and special entertainment offers with Visa Offers and Perks. All for a lovely low annual fee (relatively speaking, of course) of $90.

Overall Rating

For anyone looking for a balance transfer offer, the NAB Low Fee Platinum Credit Card could be suitable. Great features, great low annual fee — just keep an eye on the details.

Are we both automatically covered by the International travel insurance once the tickets are bought or do we need to apply? Also what does it cover? As in Medicals /Hospitals /Accommodation/ Lost baggage /Delays /Cancellations and what amounts? Looking forward to a detailed answer. Thank you.

Hi Lucjan, if your girlfriend is permanently living with you (the cardholder) at the time the journey or trip starts, both of you will be eligible for the NAB complimentary overseas travel insurance provided you meet all the criteria outlined on NAB’s insurance policy booklet. The full information on the insurance benefits, coverage amount, and exclusions can be found in the booklet. You can also speak to Allianz Global Assistance (NAB’s insurance underwriter) at 1800 187 025 for further assistance.
