The P&N Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card

With several platinum perks on offer, the P&N Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card is an appealing option for customers who want more from their credit card. Features include complimentary insurance covers, a platinum concierge and access to Visa Premium offers, all with a low ongoing purchase rate and a reasonable annual fee for a platinum offering.

What we love...

Comparing platinum cards, you may have noticed most have a rather high purchase rate. Not so, the P&N Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card. Offering a lovely low rate, this card offers a way for cardholders to save on interest if they carry a balance month to month, while still enjoying access to a range of platinum perks.

However, the interest savings don’t stop there. If you clear your balance each month by the due date, you can benefit from up to 45 days interest free on purchases. This can help you keep interest costs at zero, as long as you keep paying off that balance on time, while avoiding cash advances.

Of course, there is much more to this card than money saving. It couldn’t call itself a platinum card without offering one or two platinum benefits. First up, the card provides peace of mind with a range of complimentary insurance covers. While it’s important to read the terms to understand these covers fully, they could save you time and money on standalone plans.

Cover includes:

  • Overseas travel insurance
  • Interstate flight insurance
  • Extended warranty insurance
  • Purchase security insurance
  • Transport accident insurance

As a cardholder, you can also benefit from access to the Visa Platinum Concierge Service. Available 24 hours a day seven days a week, this service could help you with anything from travel bookings and restaurant recommendations, to theatre ticket reservations and gift ordering. You also have access to special lifestyle, entertainment and travel privileges through Visa Premium.

Misplaced your card? P&N Bank provides card replacements free of charge to platinum cardholders no matter where they are in the world. Also on offer is full card control, allowing for easy management of the card, including temporary locks and the ability to turn on and off features such as online transactions, overseas purchases and Visa payWave.

What’s not so great...

One thing some cardholders may miss on the P&N Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card is the ability to earn rewards. However, as a non-rewards earning card, it can offer a lower annual fee to cardholders who are not interested in earning rewards. Another thing to note on this card is the fact that it is only available to eligible applicants who are P&N Bank members, or those who reside in Western Australia.

Why should you choose this card?

Considering its reasonable annual fee – for a platinum card anyway – the P&N Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card could offer value to cardholders who want something more from their card. While it may not offer rewards, it provides some nice perks, alongside access to Visa’s global network.

As a Visa card, it also allows cardholders to benefit from handy features such as Visa payWave, Visa Zero Liability and Verified by Visa – and as an added bonus, the card offers compatibility with Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

Offering a minimum credit limit of $6,000, the card has the following eligibility requirements:

  • You must reside in Western Australia or be an existing P&N Bank member,
  • You must be 18 years of age or older,
  • You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident,
  • You must have a regular income.

Overall Rating

With a low purchase rate and a reasonable annual fee, the P&N Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card provides an enticing range of extras while helping to keep costs down.

Hi, My husband and I are traveling to Bali on 11/05/24. I've paid the flights using my P&N Platinum Visa card. What travel insurance do we get? Is there something that I need to do to activate the travel insurance. Many Thanks, Edita

Hi Adita, The P&N Bank Insurance policy states that you must have paid for the full amount of the return flights on your credit card to be eligible for the complimentary travel insurance. As with any insurance policy there's a range of exclusions that can apply. I've linked you the policy so you can have a deeper dive. Enjoy your trip! 🌴

Hi Tom, you’ve landed on CreditCard.com.au and not P&N Bank. Although, I did check P&N Bank Visa Platinum card’s T&Cs and can see that complimentary insurance coverage is an option. I suggest reaching out to P&N Bank directly at 13 25 77 for specifics. Have a great trip to Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴

We are going on a cruise in Dec this year staying in Australian waters. Would we be covered for all that could happen? e.g. cancellation owing to covid and the issues associated with catching the same on our trip. Thanks Regards David Freestone

    3 May 2022
Hi David, this card offers the option of complimentary overseas travel insurance, which means Australian waters possibly won’t be covered. The majority of insurance underwriters are still listing COVID-19 as a general exclusion on their policy. Some companies like CoverMore offer separate COVID related cover, but with an increased premium and excess. Have a safe and enjoyable cruise!
