Hi Leigh, if you make a payment to a person it will be treated as a cash advance, which means you'll pay a fee and a higher interest rate on the amount immediately. The fees and rates change depending on the card. It's a better idea to transfer from a debit account, which usually don't charge anything. Thanks Leigh!

Because l am a pensioner l cannot get a qantas visa or mc. Despite my wife and l have a government guaranteed non taxable income of $47000, own our home outright, $150k in the bank, 899 credit rating, no debts. I also have an Amex cc which l want to replace with visa or mc. All l want to do is earn points whereas these companies are quite happy dealing with people who only apply to get the points offer and then dump the card. They say l am not guaranteed to pay the monthly bill. What do they think the $150k is for? If there was a points paying debit card l would be happy as l am not bothered about credit as l pay it off every fortnight anyway. Was hoping Qantas money card would pay points spending AUD. Your suggestion

Hi Jay, whilst there is legislation around preventing age discrimination, some credit providers may think of you as a high risk applicant. It’s also worth noting that your current Amex credit card may be a limiting factor in your serviceability assessment for a new credit card too. It might be worth looking into the Bankwest Qantas Platinum Debit card that allows you to earn Qantas points without having to have a credit card. You can see what some of the bigger credit providers details for when pensioners apply for credit cards. Hope this has shed some light on your questions!

Hi Christine, though we cannot recommend one card over another, there’s a number of business credit cards that you can choose from to fit your needs. You can also check select on the dropdown list of Qantas Points. Right now the American Express Qantas Business Rewards Card has a huge 120,000 bonus points, with no first year annual fee or the NAB Qantas Business Signature Credit Card also has a generous sign up offer. Aren't most of these cards Citi Australia cards with a different brand on them? Can you transfer from a Citi Australia card to a QANTAS one as a "new" card or not?

Hi Kevin, great question. Technically, Citi is the Credit Provider and Issuer of Qantas branded credit cards. Citi whitelabels their cards to numerous institutions including Kogan, Coles, Bank of Queensland and Virgin. Any balances you have on a Citi card can’t be transferred to a Qantas card. Hi Rose, 28 Degrees is a credit card and with the Qantas money option, this is a debit card. Thus with Qantas card you would use your own money. I like the 28 degrees as it does not lock in a fixed rate.

Hi Eileen, they are Qantas lounge passes. They should be only valid for use when you are flying on Qantas services. Hi Sally-Anne, Qantas Money credit cards are issued by Citi. Therefore you cannot do any balance transfer from other Citi issued cards such as Coles, Virgin, Suncorp, IMB and of course Citi.
